FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is Cruising Safe ?
YES. A cruise ship is a floating hotel.
Cruise lines have a rigorous code of conduct regarding safety.
Your comfort and security while aboard ship is their main concern.
There are security officers covering the ship at all times making you and your belongings safe and sound. Non-passengers are not allowed aboard without special permission passes that would be issued by the ship.
There are personal security safes in your stateroom (and, only you have the key).
You are welcome to use your credit cards and even have your money exchanged aboard ship. All cruise ships travel with an on-board medical staff and hospital facility just in case you feel a little under the weather. Should you require a special menu this can be pre-arranged with the dining room. Should you require a wheelchair at all times, you should bring your own; however, the ship will have wheelchairs on board just in case you need a little extra help.
As we know, weather can be unpredictable, even for cruise ships seeking the warm climates. Today, cruise ships have the ability to receive direct (and up-to-the minute) weather reports, allowing the Captain and his officers to take action to remove the ship from possible harm’s way.
What about Single Travelers?
Single travelers are welcome aboard ship. Many passengers travel on their own or with a friend. There are “singles” cocktail parties, casinos available for late night fun, enrichment programs, bridge classes and play, internet access-available, dance classes, and charming social hosts with whom you can dance the night away.
When is the Best Time during the year to Cruise?
There is always somewhere to cruise where the weather is delightful and the scenery is amazing. Cruise lines thoughtfully select their destinations. In the Winter, you may want to cruise through the Panama Canal, to Australia or the South Seas. While your friends back home are trying to stay warm, you are lounging in your deck chair or building sand castles on the beach in Tahiti. Feel free to call when you wish and cruise when you wish. Cruise lines will have a voyage just right for you.
What Are Theme Cruises ?
You have an opportunity to be with people who share your unique interests. Whether it be golf, wine tasting, culinary arts, jazz, or bridge, there will be something for you.
What if Kids want to go on a cruise?
Many cruise ships offer special activities and events for children. Sometimes offering cartoon characters on board, arcades, club houses, wild pool slides, hamburger bars, and on and on. During school holidays, cruise ships will bring on special staff to help entertain and enrich the cruising experience for children.
